How We Help

Protecting Ocean & Environment

We support ocean conservation and sustainable waste management to keep the waves, coastline, and natural surroundings clean and thriving for the community and future generations.

Strengthening Community

By investing in essential infrastructure and local initiatives, we help improve access to clean water, safe public spaces, and reliable resources that enhance everyday life in the village.

Education & Sustainable Livelihoods

We offer education programs, ocean safety training, and workforce development that empower youth and adults with practical skills, environmental awareness, and pathways to sustainable livelihoods rooted in the local surf economy.

About Friends Of Saladita

We are a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to supporting a coastal surf village in Mexico by protecting its ocean, strengthening its infrastructure, and expanding opportunities for local residents. Our work is rooted in the belief that healthy waves, clean water, and resilient communities go hand in hand.

The surf break is the heart of this village—economically, culturally, and environmentally. It draws visitors from around the world and provides livelihoods for local families. We work to preserve this natural resource by promoting ocean conservation, improving water quality, and supporting responsible coastal stewardship so future generations can enjoy safe, clean, and thriving waters.

Beyond the ocean, we invest in the everyday needs of the community. We support infrastructure improvements such as road repairs and access projects that enhance safety, mobility, and quality of life. We also focus on job training and skills development, helping residents build sustainable careers connected to tourism, ocean safety, environmental protection, and local trades.

Ocean safety is a core part of our mission. Through education, training, and equipment support, we help strengthen local capacity for water safety, surf instruction, and emergency response—protecting both residents and visitors.

We partner closely with local leaders, residents, and organizations to ensure that all projects are community-led, culturally respectful, and environmentally responsible. Our goal is not to change the village, but to support it—preserving its natural beauty, strengthening its economy, and honoring the deep connection between the people and the sea.

Together, we are working to protect the waves, the water, and the community that depends on them.
